Сreated:

  • a new guideline of theoretical cognition and practical application of its results (trust)

 Developed:

  • comprehensive forecasting models of Ukraine’s economy, which integrate, in a single system,  the different spheres of the national economy and serve as a basis for quantitative substantiation of the parameters of economic policy and for the assessment of their impact on the development dynamics;
  • an aggregated model of the development of Ukraine’s economy characterized by a universal methodology of combining national models through trade flows of goods and services, based on the available, at the Institute, experience of building inter-country models for transitional economies (integrated the system of models of the world economy «Project LINK»;
  • a set of analytical software tools for scenario based forecasting of key macroeconomic indicators in the system of integrated models of Ukraine’s economy;
  • foundations of the organizational mechanism for the formation and implementation of the national innovation strategy as a result of a consensus between political, social, scientific and business circles;
  • an original set of integrated mathematical economic models and brought to practical use an applied set tools for forecasting, assessment and analysis of different scenarios (measures) of the energy, economic and environmental policy as to the development of the energy sector and energy markets.

Defined:      

  • theoretical foundations of the research on institutional transformation of economic systems based on logical and historical methodology;
  • conditions for efficient performance of the functions of the Ukrainian state, which are essential in conditions of high dependence on external borrowing;
  • main characteristics and determinants of social processes caused by the interaction between objective and subjective factors of social differentiation in their close connection with social, political and cultural aspects of society;
  • basic formal and informal institutional factors that hinder the establishment and effective functioning of the social and labor sphere and proposed an original classification of institutional traps on its development by individual segments and the areas of their, separated various generalized groups of institutional traps;
  • in historical terms (at the stage of market transformation of the second half of XIX – early XX century and turn of XX-XXI centuries.): dependence of modern social transformations in Ukraine on the previous trajectory of economic development.

 Carried out:

  • a research on major limitations of the domestic market, which shape the structural changes in the domestic production and national specialization in the international division of labor, singled out areas of the modernization of industrial management;
  • an economic evaluation of resource supply for high-tech industry, on whose results the researchers developed and justified the guidelines of reforming the science and technology sector and instruments for their implementation; proposed various methodical approaches to the evaluation of a country’s potential capacity in high-tech sector;
  • for the first time: an assessment of the scale of decapitalization of the financial sector with a specification of the causes, forms and methods of decapitalization (by banks and non-bank financial institutions);
  • an assessment of the impact of liberalization of trade regimes during the period of Ukraine’s membership in the WTO and the potential impact of further liberalization of trade regimes in the FTA on the structure of the domestic market of Ukraine and some commodity markets, justified  various scenarios for the development of trade relations between Ukraine and the countries of MS EurAsEC under the CIS FTA and evaluation of losses in the national trade balance in these scenarios, and developed the guidelines of the state protectionist policy directed to accelerate structural changes in the domestic commodity production;
  • a cross-cutting research of the national heritage economic thought in the context of paradigmatic changes that occurred during the XIX – beginning of XXI in the world economic science, in terms of the interpretation of the sources, content, social and economic mechanisms and priorities of economic development due to technological progress, environmental restrictions, social and cultural determinants, and ideological and political imperatives.

Proposed:

  • tools enabling the use of significant foreign theoretical approaches and management practices in the field of development and implementation of the post-crisis industrial policy and practical experience to analyze specific situations and to justify managerial decisions on the industrial development of Ukraine, in particular, approved the method for ranking industrial activities in order to identify priority sectors for national preferences;
  • a methodology to measure the ecological level of industrial production based on the theory decoupling.

 

Identified:

  • The influence of the factors of the global financial environment on Ukraine’s monetary and financial system.

 

Proven:

  • the formation, in Ukraine, of a distorted financial model of conducting business conditioned by institutional (weak protection of property rights and creditors, imperfect mechanisms of bankruptcy, complexity and burden of administrative and fiscal procedures) and macroeconomic (exchange risks, the poor state of public finances and the “crowding out effect”) factors.
