The eighth discussion on the presentation of presentation of research results from key projects of the research and scientific institutes on economic recovery of Ukraine within the framework of the Scientific Platform at the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine was held on December 16, 2024.
At the final meeting, the Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Institute of Demography and Quality of Life Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine presented their research results.
The report of Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Maria SKRYPNYCHENKO (Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) was devoted to the results of the study on “Scenario forecasting: different amounts of international aid (receipt / non-receipt)” (second stage). Attention was paid to the results of assessing the impact of changes in the volume of external financing on the indicators of the State Budget of Ukraine and indicators for monitoring macroeconomic imbalances in Ukraine with the identification of risks in the process of receiving international aid for the Ukrainian economy. With the help of forecast estimates of GDP, employment and unemployment, exports and imports of goods and services under external financing scenarios, scenario estimates of macroeconomic indicators under different options for international assistance to Ukraine are developed.
Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Volodymyr SARIOGLO (Institute of Demography and Quality of Life Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) presented the results of the study on “Calculations of tariffs under scenarios” and “Calculations of the minimum wage under scenarios”.
Natalia GORSHKOVA, Director of the Department of Strategic Planning and Macroeconomic Forecasting, noted the importance of jointly solving Ukraine’s current socio-economic problems and conducting such events that bring together public authorities, scientific institutions and the public, and Valeria VOITENKO, Deputy Director of this department, made a final presentation on the results of the research “Survey Results”, where she highlighted acute problems for the Ukrainian economy.
In total, during 2024, six leading scientific institutions were featured on the scientific platform at the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, that presented results on 18 research topics. Of these, 10 topics were prepared by the Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
The results of the research are of practical importance with calculations of the effect on the economy, security and defense of the country; quality of life, environmental protection and food security.
The cooperation of scientists, representatives of key ministries and agencies, NGOs, and businesses within the framework of the meetings of the Scientific Platform at the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine builds a real innovation ecosystem in Ukraine, which contributes to the implementation of scientific developments to substantiate management decisions and overcome current challenges.
