International scientific and practical conference “THE SCIENTIFIC HERITAGE OF MYKHAILO TUHAN-BARANOVSKY AS A CONCEPTUAL FOUNDATION FOR SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT”, dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Ukrainian scholar, co-founder of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and the first Minister of Finance of the Government of Ukraine M.I. Tuhan-Baranovsky, will take place on January 29, 2025 at the base of the State Organization «Institute of Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine» (in the format of a Zoom meeting).

Objective: To highlight the scientific legacy of the outstanding Ukrainian economist and statesman M. Tuhan-Baranovsky and to foster the creative development of his scientific ideas to address global challenges facing the economy, the state, science, and society in Ukraine.

1. The fundamental contribution of M. Tuhan-Baranovsky to the development of economic science.
2. Historical aspects of state-building in Ukraine and current issues of public administration.
3. The formation and development of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine as an institution for state-building.
4. Modern macroeconomic transformations and crisis prevention strategies.
5. Current issues in development of social research and social policy.
6. Contemporary trends in the global economy in the context of cyclical economic dynamics.
7. Open science as a factor of innovative development and social progress.
8. The predictive potential of M. Tuhan-Baranovsky’s scientific ideas for ensuring economic and national security.
