Scientists of the Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine presented analytical and recommendatory materials “Platform employment: content, specifics and legal regulation in the European Union and the world” at a working meeting at the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on social policy and protection of veterans’ rights together with the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Council of Ukraine on Economic Development on the topic “Platform employment in the European Union and the world”, which took place on December 11, 2024.
Deputy Director of the Institute, Head of the Department of Economic Theory, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Economics. A.A. Grytsenko, head of the department of socio-economics of labor, Doctor of Economics. V.V. Blyzniuk and a leading researcher of the Department of Economic Theory, Doctor of Economics. T.V. Burlai presented an analytical overview of the current state of development of platform employment and the global experience of its regulation. The materials were prepared within the framework of the scientific project “Formation of the foundations of nationally rooted stability and security of the economic development of Ukraine in the conditions of the hybrid system of “peace-war” (state registration number 0123U100965).
The participants of the working meeting also discussed proposals for the legislative regulation of platform employment issues in Ukraine, developed taking into account the EU Directive 2024/2831.
The scientific and analytical materials provided by the Institute will be used in the work of the Committee with the aim of improving the legislative and legal framework for the regulation of social and labor relations, strengthening the social protection of the population and preserving the social stability of Ukrainian society in the conditions of full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation, overcoming the social and humanitarian consequences caused by it and ensuring effective post-war reconstruction of Ukraine’s economy.
