- Introductory campaign Rules for doctoral studies in 2025 [in Ukrainian]
Admission to doctoral studies is carried out taking into account scientific, scientific and technical achievements in the chosen specialty in accordance with the established requirements.
Persons with the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy (candidate of sciences) who have scientific achievements and published works in the chosen specialty (in particular, publications in domestic and international refereed journals, indexed in scientometric databases, in accordance with the requirements for the level of the relevant scientific qualification, as well as scientific results that require completion or preparation in the form of a dissertation, monograph or scientific report based on a set of articles.
The standard period of training for a doctor of science in doctoral studies is two years.
The training of scientific personnel in the doctoral program is carried out only in the full-time (full-time) form of education at the expense of the state budget (state order) and on a contractual basis (at the expense of the funds of legal entities and individuals).
The state order for the training of a higher education seeker for the degree of Doctor of Sciences in doctoral studies by specialty is distributed on a competitive basis between higher educational institutions and scientific institutions that have specialized academic councils for the relevant specialties.
Based on the results of the competitive selection of state-ordered staff training providers, the Department of Scientific and Managerial Personnel of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine sends to the Institute an extract from the plan for the training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel through postgraduate and doctoral studies for the current academic year under the state order, approved by the relevant order of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine from indicating the places of state order and terms of admission to doctoral studies.
Information on the distribution of state orders is published on the official website of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the website of the Institute.
For admission to doctoral studies, the applicant submits to the scientific department of the Institute a detailed proposal, which contains a plan of research work and/or information on the amount of research work necessary to prepare the results of the conducted research for defense, at least two months before enrollment. Within a month from the date of receipt of documents from all entrants, the relevant structural division of the Institute listens to their scientific reports, by voting determines the possibility of enrolling each entrant in doctoral studies and submits conclusions for consideration by the Institute's Academic Council.
List of documents required for admission to doctoral studies at the Institute:
- statement in the name of the director;
- a copy of the diploma of a doctor of philosophy or a candidate of sciences (a person who submits a diploma issued by a foreign higher education institution for admission to a doctoral program is admitted to admission on an equal basis with other applicants. In case of a positive decision of the Academic Council of the Institute regarding the admission of such an applicant to the doctoral program, the Academic Council of the Institute⎫ at the same time makes a decision on the recognition of his diploma. In case of refusal, the Academic Council of the Institute provides the applicant with a reasoned explanation of the reasons for such refusal);
- a copy of the master's diploma (specialist) in the acquired specialty (qualification);
- a copy of the appendix to the diploma of higher education;
- copy of passport and identification code;
- a written description of the entrant's scientific activity (written by a Doctor of Science, who is a full-time scientific-pedagogical or scientific employee of the Institute, with consent to be a scientific consultant in the event of his admission to doctoral studies), which was approved at a meeting of the scientific department and the Institute's Academic Council;
- personnel record sheet with a photo card, certified by the place of work (for non-working graduates - by the department of postgraduate and doctoral studies);
- autobiography;
- medical certificate on the state of health in the form No. 086/o;
- list of scientific works.
The Academic Council of the Institute reviews the conclusions of the scientific departments regarding each entrant within a month and makes a decision on his enrollment in doctoral studies and, in accordance with the provided characteristics of the entrant's scientific activity, appoints a doctoral student a scientific consultant from among the full-time scientific employees of the Institute with the degree of Doctor of Sciences in the relevant specialty. The decision of the academic council is approved and formalized by the order of the director of the Institute. Each year, 50 academic hours of workload per doctoral student are allocated to scientific counseling.
Acceptance of applications and documents, entrance exams, competitive selection and admission to doctoral studies is carried out in the following terms:
- Start of accepting applications and documents from entrants to doctoral studies - April 1 of the current year
- Completion of applications and documents from entrants to the doctoral program (taking into account their approval at the meetings of the scientific departments and the Academic Council of the Institute) - June 30 of the current year
- Deadline for admission to doctoral - from September 1 of the current year
