General Information
Until 2016, the training of scientific personnel in doctoral studies was carried out in the following specialties, the list of which was approved by the orders of the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine:
- 08.00.01 Economic theory and history of economic thought
- 08.00.02 World economy and international economic relations (2014-2016)
- 08.00.03 Economics and management of the national economy
- 08.00.04 Economics and management of enterprises / by type of economic activity
- 08.00.05 Development of productive forces and regional economy
- 08.00.07 Demography, labor economics, social economy and politics
- 08.00.08 Money, finance and credit
- 08.00.11 Mathematical methods, models and information technologies in economics
Since 2016, in accordance with the resolution of the Academic Council of the Institute dated 12.04.2016 No. 43 and the order of the Director of the Institute dated 10.08.2016 No. 26-osn. "On the training of doctors of sciences at the Institute", the Institute has been preparing for the degree of Doctor of Sciences at the scientific level of higher education in the following specialties:
- 051 Economics, field of knowledge 05 Social and behavioral sciences
- 072 Finance, banking and insurance, field of knowledge 07 Management and administration
From 01.09.2023, in accordance with the resolution of the Academic Council dated 12.07.2023 No. 65 and the order of the Director of the Institute dated 20.08.2023 No. 22-osn. "On the training of doctors of sciences at the Institute", the Institute is training candidates for the scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences in the following specialties:
- 051 Economics, field of knowledge 05 Social and behavioral sciences
- 072 Finance, banking, insurance and stock market, field of knowledge 07 Management and administration
From 01.01.2024, in accordance with the resolution of the Academic Council dated 26.12.2023 No. 96 and the order of the Director of the Institute dated 27.12.2023 No. 30-osn. "On the training of doctors of sciences at the Institute", the training of candidates for the degree of doctor of sciences is carried out in the field of science: "Economic Sciences" and scientific specialties:
- 08.00.01 - Economic theory and history of economic thought
- 08.00.03 - Economics and management of the national economy
- 08.00.08 - Money, finance and credit
- 08.00.11 - Mathematical methods, models and information technologies in economics.
Admission to doctoral studies is carried out taking into account scientific, scientific and technical achievements in the chosen scientific specialty in accordance with the requirements of the Procedure for the training of higher education applicants for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Science in higher education institutions (scientific institutions), approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated March 23, 2016 No. 261 (as amended) and the Admission Rules of the Institute.
Doctoral studies are carried out in scientific specialties in branches of science in accordance with the list approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The dissertation (scientific report) must correspond to the passport of the scientific specialty.

Admission to doctoral studies is carried out taking into account scientific, scientific and technical achievements in the chosen scientific specialty in accordance with the requirements of the Procedure for the training of higher education applicants for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Science in higher education institutions (scientific institutions), approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated March 23, 2016 No. 261 (as amended) and the Admission Rules of the Institute.
Doctoral studies are carried out in scientific specialties in branches of science in accordance with the list approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The dissertation (scientific report) must correspond to the passport of the scientific specialty.
Admission to the doctoral program of the Institute is carried out for the purpose of completing work on scientific research, processing their results, preparing publications for the defense of the degree of Doctor of Sciences, more details.
The defense of theses for the degree of Doctor of Science is carried out in the special council of the Institute.
Persons who completed doctoral training before 2016 can submit a dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Economic Sciences for defense to the special councils of the Institute (make a hyperlink to the "Scientific Councils" tab) in the following specialties:

- 08.00.03 Economics and management of the national economy
- 08.00.08 Money, finance and credit
- 08.00.11 Mathematical methods, models and information technologies in the economy
According to the order of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine dated 10.10.2022 No. 894, the term of work of the permanent special councils of the Institute for the specified specialties has been extended for three years.
