The essence of households is studied, their place in agricultural production and rural development is highlighted. The differentiation of these farms in the conditions of the latest agrarian transformations and the accumulation of entrepreneurship development potential in their environment are revealed. Taking into account foreign experience, the conditions and directions of further transformation, the need and ways of fuller integration of small forms of business into the system of market functioning of the agrarian sector and its state regulation are substantiated.
