The monograph identifies the main factors and manifestations of social and economic processes in Ukrainian society; their interaction and mutual influence is analyzed; possible mechanisms of harmonizing social policy with manifestations of the market economy are considered, taking into account the peculiarities of the socio-cultural determination of economic processes in modern Ukraine, and a comprehensive system of monitoring socio-economic transformations is also proposed.

The empirical basis for the preparation of the monograph was the results of public opinion monitoring, which has been systematically conducted since 1995. by the joint efforts of the "Social Monitoring" Center, the Ukrainian Institute of Social Research named after O. Yaremenko and with the participation (since 2005) of the department of monitoring studies of socio-economic transformations of the Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine
