The monograph presents the results of economic analysis of the interaction of internal and external factors of economic development and experience of the reforms that took place in Ukraine during 1990–2002. As a direction to implement an efficient economic policy in early XXI century, the authors propose a justification of Ukraine’s long-term economic development strategy. In this context, they provide harmonized target reference points for stable economic growth, increase in living standards, institutional transformations, innovative and investment modernization, structural and technological renewal, and competition-based integration in the world economy.

The present work is the result of research conducted at the Institute for Economic Forecasting, Ukrainian NAS in 2001–2003.
