General information
Since its establishment, the Institute has been training scientific personnel through postgraduate and doctoral studies.
Until 2016, the training of scientific personnel in postgraduate studies was carried out according to specialties, the list of which was approved by the orders of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine:
- 08.00.01 Economic theory and history of economic thought
- 08.00.02 World economy and international economic relations (2014-2016)
- 08.00.03 Economy and management of the national economy
- 08.00.04 Economics and enterprise management /by types of economic activity/
- 08.00.05 Development of productive forces and regional economy
- 08.00.07 Demography, labor economy, social economy and politics
- 08.00.08 Money, finance and credit
- 08.00.11 Mathematical methods, models and information technologies in the economy
In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports No. 856 of 19.07.2016, in 2016 the Institute received a license to conduct educational activities at the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education in the following specialties:
- 051 Economics of the field of knowledge 05 Social and behavioral sciences with a licensed volume of 7 people
- 072 Finance, banking and insurance branch of knowledge 07 Management and administration with a licensed volume of 5 people (order of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine dated 02.03.2017 No. 21-L (re-registration))
Since 2021, a license for the right to carry out educational activities in the field of higher education has been obtained and the procedure for accreditation of educational programs at the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education has been carried out, more details.
Submission of documents for admission to the Institute's postgraduate program begins on August 15 and lasts until September 10, more details.
The training of scientific personnel in postgraduate studies is carried out in full-time (full-time) and part-time form of education at the expense of the state budget (by state order) and on a contractual basis (at the expense of funds of legal entities and individuals).
The contingent of persons who have a desire to study at a graduate school consists of graduates of higher educational institutions of Ukraine, teachers of higher educational institutions, employees of state institutions, banks and others.
Highly qualified specialists of the Institute who hold the scientific degrees of Doctor of Science and Doctor of Philosophy (candidate of sciences), as well as scientists with the titles of professor, senior researcher (senior research associate/associate professor) are appointed as scientific supervisors of graduate students. Among the leaders are academicians and corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences and branch academies of sciences of Ukraine.
Postgraduate graduates may be employed at the Institute as researchers without competitive selection. As scientific workers, they carry out scientific research on the subjects of the Institute, participate in competitions of young scientists, scientific and practical conferences, publish their achievements in scientific publications of the Institute.
According to the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine, graduate students submit a thesis for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy for defense.
Persons who completed their postgraduate studies before 2016 can submit a thesis for the degree of Candidate of Economic Sciences for defense to the special councils of the Institute

According to the order of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine dated 10.10.2022 No. 894, the term of work of the permanent special councils of the Institute for the specified specialties has been extended for three years.
