During 2024, 11 meetings of the Academic Council were held:

• the areas of scientific research and the main directions of other scientific activities were adjusted in order to support the development of promising guidelines in the Institute’s work, which streamlined the latter’s internal structure by eliminating and reorganizing individual research units
• the Institute’s applied research was reoriented – the topics were expanded in order to solve the priority tasks in strengthening Ukraine’s defense and security
• the results of the research on departmental projects, as well as on competition-based, program-oriented and contractual projects were considered and approved, a number of research projects were put forward for participation in the competitions at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, according to the results of the competitive selection, the decision was made to start the relevant research projects and approve the working plans for their implementation
• approved, agreed and clarified the Institute’s thematic plan of departmental, program-oriented, and contractual projects for 2024 with appropriate changes and additions
• the Institute’s publishing plan was approved and the monographs and collections of scientific works were recommended for printing
• the working and calendar plans for research on departmental, competition-based and program-oriented projects were considered and approved
• the results of competitions for the replacement of vacant research positions in the Institute were approved
• the rules of admission to the postgraduate and doctoral studies at the Institute, and programs and examination papers for conducting entrance exams to the Institute’s postgraduate studies were approved, the topics of dissertation projects of graduate students, educational and methodological materials for the training of higher education applicants at the Institute’s postgraduate studies, and the results of the applicants’ certification were approved, the Regulations on the procedure for expulsion, interruption of training, renewal and transfer of students in postgraduate and doctoral studies and on granting them academic leave were approved  [in Ukrainian]
• the scholarships of the President of Ukraine and the NAS of Ukraine were certified
• the Institute's annual report for 2024 was considered and approved
