Researchers from the State Organization "Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine" participated in the presentation of the pilot programme "Green Farming in Horticulture", which took place on July 15, 2026 in the Ukrinform press center.

The Programme "Green Farming in the Field of Horticulture" provides Ukrainian micro, small and medium-sized enterprises with the opportunity to receive grant funding and preferential bank lending for the implementation of modern climate-friendly technologies. 

The Programme is being implemented by the National Development Institution (NDI) within the regional initiative "Promoting Green Deal Readiness in the Eastern Partnership Countries" (PROGRESS), which is funded by the Germany’s Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety within the International Climate Initiative (IKI).

State Organization "Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine" as a member of the consortium of organizations - implementers of the PROGRESS initiative, led by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH together with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) - is participating in the development and launch of the Programme "Green Farming in the Field of Horticulture", providing a scientific and methodological support for the development of green financing. In particular, the researchers have developed a comprehensive financing mechanism, which is expected to address high interest rates, reduce lending risks arising from insufficient collateral provided by farmers, and improve the selection of eligible business projects.

At the press conference there has been presented the "Catalog of Best Technologies and Practices for Adapting the Horticulture Sector to Climate Change", prepared primarily by researchers from the State Organization "Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine".
