On May 21, 2025, the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Strategic principles of Ukraine’s integration into the global geo-economic space" was held at the State Organization "Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine". The event was organized by the International Financial Research Sector and the Public Finance Sector of the Public Finance Department, the Monetary Relations Department and the Infrastructure Development Department of the Institute.
The conference brought together leading Ukrainian and foreign scholars, including those from Georgia, Lithuania and New Zealand, economists, diplomats, who discussed current geo-economic challenges, prospects for Ukraine’s positioning in the global economy, as well as ways to ensure sustainable and innovative development of the state in the context of war and post-war recovery.
The following key areas were discussed during the conference:
- patterns of modern geo-economic imperatives and features of the world economic development;
- economic factors of Ukraine’s positioning in the world economy under martial law and post-war recovery.
- processes of global corporatization, regional localization and institutional organization of financial markets;
- the role of geo-economic strategies and regulatory mechanisms in ensuring stable and transparent functioning of the financial infrastructure;
- national interests of Ukraine in the context of globalization processes in the world economy;
- key strategies and determinants of Ukraine’s positioning in the modern multipolar world.
The main conclusion of the discussions was as follows: Ukraine should formulate a clear strategy for international economic integration based on innovation, modernization and effective cooperation with countries that share common development values. In the new global architecture, it should become a full-fledged actor capable not only of adapting to challenges but also of shaping the rules of the game.
