On April 2, 2025, a roundtable discussion “Problems of Ukrainian goods and services markets under martial law” was held in Zoom format, initiated and conducted by the Department of Trade and Industrial Policy of the Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
To live, to work and to grow in a time of war is a challenge, that is why scientists and experts should work together to define efficient solutions to overcome the unprecedented military threats that cause significant losses to the Ukrainian industry due to:
- destruction of industrial and logistics infrastructure;
- reduction of solvent demand;
- changes in the structure of exports and imports;
- skilled labor shortage;
- enhancing fragmentation of world trade;
- digitalization of the economy;
- toughening environmental requirements.
At the same time, these challenges open up opportunities for economic transformation:
- development of domestic production and formation of new areas of activity
- strengthening strategic industries;
- strengthening international cooperation for economic recovery and growth.
The necessity to further unlock Ukraine's internal capabilities was the purpose of organizing and conducting the second roundtable discussion devoted to the problems of Ukraine's goods and services markets under martial law by the Trade and Industrial Policy Department of the Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
The roundtable was attended by scientists and educators not only from Ukraine, but also colleagues from foreign countries, which is a confirmation of the growing interest in this issue.
