The event participants honored the memory of Viktor Oleksandrovych Tochilin, founder of the Department of Sectoral Forecasts and Market Conditions (now transformed into the Department of Trade and Industrial Policy). An outstanding Ukrainian scientist, Honored Economist of Ukraine, Doctor of Economics and Professor V.O. Tochilin was among the founders of the Institute for Economics and Forecasting and was one of the first heads of its departments. Under his leadership, the basis for modern market research in Ukraine was laid, and a strong academic school was established that combines in-depth theoretical analysis with applied approaches to economic policy-making. The scientific work of this outstanding scientist contributed to the establishment of the modern paradigm of market research - from their development in a transitional economy to the integration into global economic systems.
