On December 4, 2025, our colleague, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Certified Trainer Nina Nykyforivna Poyda-Nosyk from Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University, gave a guest lecture on "MonsoonSIM: Business Strategy and Financial Management" and conducted an interactive workshop for employees and graduate students of the State Organization "Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine".
The event was held within the cooperation agreement between the institute and the university.
The moderator was Natalia Romanovska, a junior researcher at the Department of Trade and Industrial Policy of the Institute, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor.
The audience learned about the possibilities of using digital business simulations in the study of economic processes and managerial decision-making. Professor Nina Poyda-Nosyk emphasized the importance of integrating financial, marketing, production and logistics solutions to increase the enterprise’s competitiveness.
The workshop was dedicated to working with the MonsoonSIM platform, which models the enterprise’s activities, taking into account the interaction of key functional units. Participants worked with various simulated scenarios that clearly demonstrated the complexity of market dynamics, the competitive environment, as well as the importance of strategic planning and rational use of resources.
During the lecture and workshop, the following topics were considered:
- modeling the enterprise’s business processes in a simulation environment;
- making managerial decisions under uncertainty;
- using key performance indicators (KPI) to assess performance;
- managing the enterprise’s financial, material and human resources;
- the relationship between operational decisions and strategic results.
After the main part, a lively professional discussion took place, during which the participants asked a number of meaningful questions. The discussion showed significant interest in digital modeling methods and the need for further use of such tools to develop analytical competencies of employees and higher education students. The participants positively assessed the work with the MonsoonSIM platform, emphasizing its practicality, flexibility and ability to clearly demonstrate the relationships between various aspects of the enterprise's activities. They noted that the simulation helped better understand the mechanisms of managerial decision-making, assess the impact of strategic and operational actions on overall results and feel the realism of modeling market situations, and the practical skills gained will be used in the Institute's further scientific, analytical and educational work.
The guest lecture and workshop became an important platform for professional exchange, contributed to the improvement of the participants' qualifications and demonstrated the great potential of simulation modeling as a modern approach to the study of economic processes. Such events contribute to the strengthening of scientific partnerships between higher education institutions and research institutions, improve the quality of postgraduate training and promote the development of critical thinking.
