Main scientific and theoretical results
- Elucidated the socioeconomic essence of agroecology as an approach to organizing agri-food systems, the foundation of which is formed by human and social values, including principles of social justice and human rights, support for the autonomy and well-being of food and agricultural producers engaged in family farming, promotion of socially significant and solidarity-based systems of economic organization, and transformation of the forms of human interaction with nature.
- Distinguished the socioeconomic dimension of agroecological transition as an integral characteristic of societal changes in agri-food systems.
- Provided a definition of the concept "agroecological transition" as the transformation of agriculture and the food system from soil and production practices to the organization of human communities and fundamental human values in the production and consumption of agricultural products and food.
- Demonstrated the necessity of establishing a Roadmap for the implementation of agroecological transition policy in Ukraine as a framework document that identifies pathways, stages, and mechanisms for advancing agri-food systems at local, regional, and national levels toward their ecologization and enhanced resilience, fairness, and inclusivity.
Based on the research findings, a monograph "Socio-economic potential of agroecology" has been prepared.
