The paper is a study of the budgetary space of Ukraine in 2005-2020.

A methodological approach to the current assessment of the budget space is proposed; within its limits, the equality of three approaches to the quantitative assessment of the budget space is proven: assessment by calculating the budget gap, by comparing the values of the indicators of the state debt and by comparing the values of the indicators of the budget balance;

current yearly estimates of budget space for 2005-2020 are calculated and analyzed; in an analytical form, the contributions of budget indicators to the formation of the budget space in Ukraine are defines and calculated by years for 2005-2020; an analysis of current estimates of the budget space for 2005-2020 is carried out for sensitivity to changes made to the laws of Ukraine on the State Budget of Ukraine during 2005-2020 and resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on approving the forecast of the economic and social development of Ukraine regarding the planned annual values of budget indicators.
